One of our favorite products that we've added into our sports line is the "Attitude Pano".  These team pictures are wonderful additions to the standard shots that we take of all sports teams.  They are perfect for gifts to kids and coaches and hang nicely on a wall. We offer them in the 10x30 and 5x15 sizes and the quality is fabulous.  It takes a little longer on picture day, but the result is worth it.  They are printed on metallic paper and the graphics really pop.

Weekend Work

Mark and his crew spent Saturday out in Orland shooting the local Orland Softball League and Orland Little League team pictures.  It is always a great time out there, the parks provide good backdrops and we've been out there enough over the past few years that our clients have our systems down.  Shooting team sport "Picture Days" is rewarding in that our clients are so often happy to see us.  In an industry (youth sports photography) that often doesn't focus on quality and customer service, we love bringing in a change of pace to the local leagues.  It's really not difficult for us to offer quality portraits and products at prices comparable to the national companies, and yet still be friendly about it.  Works out as a win-win for everyone.  

And Buddy Shots?  Coach and Kid Shots?  NO PROBLEM!  Just jump right in and add it to your picture package or grab a new envelope.  

And as my own kids are starting up their Little League seasons, we'll try to remember this quote:

'Tis the season in our life where we are chasing kids EVERYWHERE.  While we squeeze in our own fun and friends, there is also no shortage of choices for "what to do today".  Our business seems to evolve as our life evolves.  Our wedding pictures inspired Mark to start shooting weddings, our preschool needed a picture day (we just shot Laura's Daycare and Preschool last week to mark our 8th year), Little League and soccer pictures needed some quality management, etc, etc.

In response to the "action age" we've hit with our own kids, we've seen new opportunities. We were fortunate enough last fall to spend a day with the Durham Jr. Trojans shooting action throughout the day of games.  It was a monumental challenge to represent all of the players - perhaps not the greatest challenge for Mark with a slight perfectionist disorder - I'm not sure of a day last year that he worked harder.  But the pictures that came back were well worth it!  And it got us thinking, wouldn't it be great to be available to pop out to a baseball game, soccer game, piano concert, or ___________ (you fill in the blanks), and focus on one client and give them some amazing memories of these lightning fast moments of childhood.

Caught in the hustle of everyday life with a family and small business, sometimes the "ah-ha" moments seem few and far between.  Mark loves to take off on photo journeys with any subject that will tolerate him.  One of the best is his brother, Matt, because unlike myself or our kids, Matt will just do whatever Mark suggests and is enthusiastic about it.  Mason's getting closer, but there's still a limit to his patience!

One of their best trips was a winter excursion to Death Valley.  Mark and I met there on a backpacking trip for Saint Mary's, and we've always specifically wanted to go back to the Racetrack Valley.  Look it up, it's worth checking out. The pictures that came back from this trip are everywhere - we've enlarged them up, sold them, given them as gifts, and hung them around the house.   Capturing people in the natural environment, doing what they love, is our whole new version of "lifestyle photography".  And yes, Matt is an ultra athlete, so this is a great reflection of who he is.

ATTITUDE PANOS

We started offering this popular team picture option this past year, and they exceed expectations.  Although not feasible with the time requirements for large, recreational sports leagues, the attitude panoramic is an excellent option for our competitive sports clients.  The kids love them and they look fabulous up on the wall.  They are available in 10x30 and 5x15 sizes.

We're looking to extend out to the single player collage using this lab and software and that will be coming in 2014 - imagine a collection of your child in a multitude of environments all in one handy panoramic print.  If you're going to see us a lot this year (quite common in the Chico, Paradise, Durham or Orland areas)  - let us know and we'll take full length shots each time we see your child.  By the end of the year we could have quite the product!  Who will be first?
