Baby Cade

This handsome dude graced our studio last fall, and it is always a good time when his family comes to see us. I've been great friends with his mommy for years and years, and we've got quite the collection of life events in pictures of them (but that's a separate blog post).  New babies are the best, you never know what you're going to get.  Sleepy is common, crabby and hungry also usually occurs at least once during the shoot, and if everyone has the time and patience, content and happy usually follows as well.  With Cade, we were able to hit all of these.  The next step was getting big sister Emma (a little over 2) to jump in for a few pictures and then to hang with one of us while Cade stole the show.  She helped me organize some book work and shuttle things back and forth to the house, maybe stealing a few bites of pear along the way.  It was a great couple of hours for all of us!  Photography the way we want to do it.  Calm and professional, driven for results that fit our clients need, and flexible enough to work with their schedule.

Much of our life is rushed and crazy, which is no surprise to anyone who knows Mark!  He has a bit of a "keep busy" personality, or maybe more than a bit. Add in our own kids and days fly by so fast!  It is always a welcome break to have a studio shoot during the week where we are forced to just chill and do the work we love.

And then sometimes, after an hour and a half of trying to wake up the baby so we can see his gorgeous eyes, we capture this:

Absolutely not your trendy photoshop baby pictures (where professionals blend a couple of pictures together as a parent holds different parts of the baby's head).  And you see this little personality breaking out of someone so very young (I'm pretty sure right around 2 weeks old)!  I can't wait to compare these looks to future pictures we get of him!

"Where there is love there is life."
